Didsbury Playing Fields Association, Registered Charity Number: 1141644 undertook to improve the facilities it is responsible for at Simon Field, Didsbury.
Tony, a Board of Trustee on DPFA, volunteered to be our lead in managing the construction of a new changing room block and led a number of detailed sub-working groups which concentrated on fitting out the kitchen, the two bars, all electric and data cabling, finishings and snagging. Without which, we would not have achieved what we have done in the time and with the budget at our disposal. He grasped the scope of what was needed and worked with both the board of trustees and the contractors to ensure the outcome was what we envisaged.
Tony has very strong project management skills and fully understands the interdependancies that emanate from such undertakings, balancing the needs of construction with ongoing and future operations & maintenance activity. He recognises the need for clear and concise communications and instruction to ensure that misunderstandings are minimised or eliminated.
His financial knowledge and general commercial understanding is also a significant factor when managing and co-ordinating the delivery of third parties and other stakeholders. Something he brought to bear on our particular project.
I was Chairman of DPFA at the time of the planning and delivery stage of the project. The facility is now open and we are managing operations. If you want to know more, please just ask.
